Dallas' Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training begins April 21st

The City of Dallas Office of Emergency Management will offer Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) classes for neighborhoods, community organizations or workplaces, starting Apr. 21 and Apr. 25. The free classes are taught by emergency personnel and cover basic emergency response skills.

Classes can be designed specific to a neighborhood and at convenient days, times and locations; each class must include at least 10 participants. All nine modules of the curriculum must be completed in order to become certified.

Volunteers become CERT members upon completion of all class sessions taught by local emergency management and professional first responders. Each class is approximately 2 ½ hours and includes practical and team-building exercises.
