Soccer News: This Week at FC Dallas...

With four games remaining in the regular season, FC Dallas sits just two points behind Vancouver for the fifth and final Western Conference playoff spot. FC Dallas hits the road for the next three matches, traveling to San Jose this weekend followed by matches at Chivas USA and at Seattle before returning home for the regular-season finale versus Chivas USA on Oct. 28.

Meanwhile, Vancouver will make its final stand mostly from the friendly confines of BC Place as the Canadian side hosts Seattle, Chivas USA and Portland before traveling to Real Salt Lake to wrap up the regular season. FC Dallas is 9-12-9 with 36 points, while Vancouver sits at 10-12-8 with 38 points. FC Dallas currently holds the tie-breaker between the two clubs.

Help our community by eating more quesadillas
From now through October, all five area Blue Goose Cantina restaurants will donate a dollar from every “Quesadilla of the Month” sold to the FC Dallas Foundation’s Hernandez All-Stars Field project. The field will be built at the Bataan Center, located a short distance from the Trinity River and will serve the predominantly Hispanic West Dallas area. The project is named after FC Dallas midfielder and dedicated community youth advocate Daniel Hernandez. The Foundation strives to positively impact disadvantaged youth through the sport of soccer. The Blue Goose Cantina “Quesadilla of the Month” has spicy blackened chicken with poblano peppers, sliced avocado and jack cheese in a jalapeno cheddar tortilla, served with sour cream and pico de gallo. The menu item costs $10.95 and is featured as a daily special seven days a week for both lunch and dinner. For more information, visit FCDallasFoundation.org.
