(Redacción) -- Luego de una ausencia de 14 años, el futbol femenil regresará a la Copa Dallas, en su edición XXXI con la participación de las selecciones nacionales sub-17 de Brasil y los Estados Unidos, que se medirán en cotejo amistoso el sábado 3 de abril en el estadio del Pizza Hut Park, a partir de las 6:30 p.m.Los organizadores contemplan un donativo mínimo de $25,000 a la fundación Susan G. Komen para apoyar la investigación sobre el cáncer de seno y otros programas de asistencia comunitaria.
El director ejecutivo de la Copa Dallas, Gordon Jago, cuya esposa es sobreviviente de cáncer mamario, comentó sobre la importancia de apoyar el soccer femenil pero sobre todo, asistir a la fundación Susan G. Komen for the cure.
"Con el Mundial Femenil Sub-17 de la FIFA programado para junio en Trinidad y Tobago, ambas federaciones (brasileña y estadounidense) tendrán una excelente oportunidad para utilizar este juego como preparación hacia el torneo", agregó Jago.

Following an absence of 14 years, women’s soccer will return to the Dr Pepper Dallas Cup when the United States Women’s U17 National team will play the Brazil Women’s U17 National team at Pizza Hut Park stadium on Saturday, April 3, 2010. Kick-off will be at 6:30 pm. A minimum guaranteed donation of $25,000 will be given to Susan G. Komen for the Cure® to support breast cancer research and community outreach programs.
“We are so delighted to be able to present such an exciting women’s soccer game and more importantly, to assist Susan G. Komen for the Cure,” stated Gordon Jago, Dallas Cup Executive Director. “My wife June is a breast cancer survivor so I have a personal interest in staging this outstanding women’s soccer game,” said Jago. “It will give Dallas soccer fans the opportunity to see the young women soccer stars of the future as they attempt to follow in the footsteps of our great women soccer players such as Mia Hamm, Julie Foudy and Kristien Lilly.”
“With the FIFA Women’s U17 World Championship to be held in Trinidad in June 2010, both Federations will have an excellent opportunity to use this game in preparation for the battles ahead for both teams in their quest to become the U17 WORLD CHAMPIONS,” stated Jago.
