'Mississippi Goddam': A new play by Jonathan Norton at the South Dallas Cultural Center

DALLAS -- The Black Pain/Black Power theater season continues at the South Dallas Cultural Center with the attractive play "Mississippi Goddamn", that will run from February 19 to March 8, 2015.

Jonathan Norton's new play examines the tensions and complications within families and among neighbors in the period leading up to the assassination of Civil Rights Activist, Medgar Evers. Set in 1963 Jackson, Mississippi on the eve of Evers’ death, the new, full-length production explores a little known chapter in American history that pitted daughter against father, husband against wife, sister against sister, and neighbor against neighbor.

Performances of Mississippi Goddamn take place Thursday to Saturday at 8:00 pm, and Sundays at 3:00 pm, February 19to March 8, 2015 at the South Dallas Cultural Center, 3400 S. Fitzhugh Avenue, Dallas, 75210.

General Admission tickets can be purchased online, with early bird specials and discounts available. Tickets are $20 at the door the night of the show, pending availability. The production is recommended for Mature Audiences only. A post-performance talkback with the cast and playwright will take place after each performance.
